Women love jewelery, now, that is no new thing. But, the trend of designs in jewelery has changed for sure. The change in design and the change in the trend of wearing jewellery, is totally welcome. The change in design has led to the diminish of traditional style of jewelery. The traditional style of gold pendant, for instance, where very large in shape and had heavy gold embellishments, the designs were very intricate and there where huge stones attached to it. The whole traditional look was more of the aged lady jewelery kind, rather than being a bit different for the young adult women.

The design change has brought fresh designs, that are light in weight and don't have huge stones dominating the pendant. Though less work of hand can be seen on the cross pendants and etc, which took more handwork to design than the rest of the pendants, but still the work is unmatchable. Machine cut jewellery is becoming famous, in comparison to hand made jewelery, just because the designs have more clarity and better finish when compared to the hand made jewelery.

Today, the trend of having jewellery to just flaunt it is the rule, and tht is hwy new kind of pendants and other small, sophisticated jewellery is coming to fore, rather than heavy necklaces and drop earrings and such. The love knot pendants for example, are such pendants that are not only availabe in a unique design, but are no where related to, or are near to any traditional design. There are several instances where the jewellery designers of today have took inspiration from the old monuments of heritage status, and imbibed them in jewellery, those kind of jewelery cannot be termed as traditional jewellery. They are terned as fusion jewellery, the kind of thing where two kinds of things influence a piece, one old and one new.

'New' being the thinking of the new age jewelry designer, old being the inspiration. The results of such kind of jewelery is great. The pieces are famous all around the world, let alone in India. The best thing about having these kind of ideas, is that we are doing something to protect our heritage, our designs and our roots, and inturn getting international recognition. Because, not only the designs are singular, they also represent our past, as well as the development that we have gone through, since then.
